Bom yang meledak sesaat sebelum salat Jumat di Masjid Mapolresta Cirebon, mengejutkan semua pihak, sebab bom tersebut meledak di dalam kompleks kantor polisi.
Mabes Polri mengatakan bahwa sebelum memulai aksi bom bunuh diri tersebut, M Syarif melakukan pelatihan yang dipimpin oleh Sigit yang dilakukan di kawasan pegunungan.
"Lokasi pelatihan di Gunung Cermai, Cirebon," ujar Kadiv Humas Mabes Polri Irjen Anton Bachrul Alam, saat menggelar jumpa pers di Mabes Polri, Jalan Trunojoyo Nomor 1, Jakarta Selatan, Minggu (15/5/2011).
Aksi bom bunuh diri di Mesjid Mapolresta Cirebon, melukai sekira 30 orang, salah satunya yaitu Kapolresta Cirebon AKBP Heru Koco.
